I answering these questions,
you might come to realize that you must reorganize your living space so
you can work more effectively on your dream.
Here are pointers that have helped me organize my own space:
Look at the places where you like to work.
What's working?
What's not working?
What's essential?
What advantage do you get through organizing?
What's causing clutter?
1 Sort into categories
2 Purge. Get rid of what you don't need anymore
3 Assign a home place
4 Containerize
5 Equalize, maintain the organization system

Barbara Sher's insightful questions:
What do you notice?:
F.Q.: I like to do things alone, not much body stuff,
I like slow paced stuff and not putting myself in physical danger. I
like to do things with my mind. And cultivate a spiritual dimension
to what I'm doing (this spiritual side is private and personal. Not
to be confused with organized religion).
NONE OF THE THINGS I LIKE TO DO ARE JOB RELATED!!!
With this information, play at reshaping your
environment to fit your needs.
Describe an Imaginary environment perfectly tailored to your needs:
F.Q.: 1 room for sleeping and relaxation. 1 room for
drawing, computer and other creative work. A 3rd room for tai-chi/aikido.
a greenhouse for foraging and gardening, an electric vehicle.
Twice a week, I meet children and teenagers that are creative and want
to make the world a better place. We talk, eat, exchange tricks and
encourage one another to keep on going. I would like to have a private
aikido instructor.
At the end of the day, I take time to meditate.
Describe your ideal day:
Wake up late
Read
Tai-Chi, do some gardening
Eat vegetarian
Work 3 hours on comic
1 hour paint/draw
Sculpture customize
Meet kids/teenagers
Play music when stuff pops into my head
go to bed late at night
What elements of your ideal day are absolutely indispensable?
Tai-Chi,
Eat vegetarian
Work on comic
Paint/draw
Sculpture
Practice French,English,German
Play music
What elements are optional but desirable:
Meet kids/teenagers,help kids with home work, gardening
Read
aikido
Frills?:
Practice Japanese, watch movies, play with kids.Political
consumerism,
Survival skills, Documentaries, conferences
What happens when you walk through an adjusted fantasy day with only
the indispensable elements in it?
F.Q.: I realize that there is no money coming in.
This gives me the impression that my skills and interests have no economic
value in our society. And this in turn increases my shame. That's why
I added a "can this be turned into a source of income" column.
What elements do you already have?
F.Q.: Everything is there. I don't have as much space
as I need. But I can work with the space I have.
What important things are absent from your life right now?
F.Q.: Everything is there, except the money streams.
I have to turn some of my interests into revenue streams.
What stands between you and your adjusted ideal day?
F.Q.: My ideal day doesn't generate any income. I would
need a job with an understanding employer. Or find ways of generating
income from what I like to do...
I tried finding an understanding employer and have not found any. In
the last 3 years I tried generating income from the things I like to
do. But not enough money is coming in. I try not to let myself be discouraged
by this. A little bit of money coming in is better than no money at
all.
I have finally put my hands on a business
plan with which I can better generate income from what
I like to do.
It's time to clarify my goal... |
